--- Monday 20th of November 2006 ---Praise God! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Outreach this past week. Several churches in the greater Nashville area joined with us in sponsoring our annual Inner City Thanksgiving Outreach. Roughly 75 volunteers gathered at the World Outreach Center and prepared special Thanksgiving boxes for over 126 of Nashville's needy families. In Nashville's inner city, Christ was shared, people were prayed with, and Thanksgiving boxes were delivered. Remeber our Christmas Outreach on December 16 and join with us as we bring hope to the hopeless!
--- Monday 06th of November 2006 ---We are definitely busy "sharing Christ across the street and around the world". Meilyn and I just retirned from a wonderful mission conference hosted by Christ Church in Nashville. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and a great opportunity for us to network with other ministries that we can assist and partner with in ministry. Hats of to Missions Pastor Eric Falk and his assistant Martie Rader.
Please check back for updates on our upcoming ministries ventures. This year On The Go is sending teams to Italy, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Spain, as well as the USA! We have a busy season ahead.
View All EntriesHistory:Jimmy is originally from Houston, Texas. Growing up in one of America's largest cities proved to be valuable stepping stones in the journey to living a life in missions and evangelism. At the age of 17, Jimmy attended a missions project to Jamaica. It was here that he met Keith and Joan Cook of On The Go Ministries and surrendered his life to missions. He took the call of God very seriously and believed strongly that he was to act upon that and not sit waiting. Two years later, at the age of 19, Jimmy moved from Houston to Nashville, Tennessee to work full time for On The Go Ministries. Over the course of 12 years Jimmy faithfully served as the Vice President of Outreach for On the Go and oversaw the arrangements and planning for all of the ministry events of On the Go.
Meilyn is originally from San José, Costa Rica. Growing up in a single parent home has allowed Meilyn to see just how important the family really is and given her a platform to minister to young girls in search of love. Meilyn accepted Christ while on vacation visiting her grandmother when she was 13 years old. Three months later, due to her testimony her mother came to Christ. At 17 years old Meilyn's mother married an American that she had met while serving with a missions group in Costa Rica and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. As a teenager, Meilyn knew that she was called to marry a minister and that she would be serving the Lord in missions.
In late 2006 God began dealing with Jimmy and Meilyn about moving overseas to serve the Lord in Ireland. After a lot of prayer and preparation in Janaury 2008, Jimmy and Meilyn moved to Galway, Ireland as On The Go Missionaries assisting Discovery Church.
Interests:Wow, what a question for such a small space. Meilyn and I love to travel (which I guess is a good thing considering what we do). Meilyn is a worship dancer and so of course she loves dance and dance related arts. Both of us really like theatre. I really enjoy what I do. As strange and nerdie as it my be I love to research places. I have always loved to read and learn about other cultures.
Active Prayer Requests:- Please pray for Meilyn and I regarding a good, reliable second car. (Tuesday 07th of November 2006)
