What's Happening:--- Monday 07th of May 2007 ---As a testiment of God's continued provision and faithfulness, I would like to share the following.
Approximately one year ago, solicitation letters were sent to several of the embassies located here in Costa Rica. We received only one positive response and it was from the Japanese Embassy. They expressed an interest in the project, but first we would have to submit a proposal. For many months, we went back and forth as the Embassy continued to request more and more information, along with supporting documents. As a testament to the tedious process, we submitted our final draft only to have it returned because of a 36 cent discrepancy. Pastor Jorge explained to them that the discrepancy was due to the fact of rounding off our calculations. They tartly replied that this was 36 cents that the Japanese Government would have to pay, thus we would have to correct the error before submitting the proposal. Happily we did so and finally handed over the papers.
After many months, the proposal was approved by the Japanese Embassy in Costa Rica. But that was not the end of the story, as the proposal then had to be sent to Japan for final approval. I am happy to announce that the proposal was approved for the sum of $89,991! The money will be used exclusively for the construction of the 3rd children's home. The funds have been received and construction of the 3rd children's is well underway.
